Classroom Supplies
So, you’ve got the Teacher Guide and Student Books, your rug has a nice home in your AAM classroom. What else do you need? You gotta set up the classroom and decorate your walls with the animal helpers your students will soon fall in love with. We sell 10 decorative and 5 educational posters that feature your favorite adventurers and favorite music topics, like intervals. You will also need the 10 instruments (click here for the full instrument list) and a few other items that we have compiled into a handy-dandy Amazon list below (or click here for it!).
Classroom Posters
Your classroom is going to need some decorations, and we’ve got plenty for you. 5 different posters filled with rhythm review, tempo markings and more! Hang these posters around your AAM classroom (or any classroom!) for students to reflect back on and reference at any time.
Of course, we can’t forget our adventurous helpers! We have custom-cut posters of all 10 animals playing their instruments. Have your student point out Wendy the Whale’s saxophone or try holding the clarinet like Frankie the Flamingo. Kids love standing next to their musical friends for photo ops and more!
Miscellaneous Classroom Supplies
Does your classroom have everything you’ll need to teach a class? Table & chairs, keyboard, markers & crayons, etc. If not, check out our Amazon idea list here! Some items that we recommend you purchase for your classroom are listed below. If you want even more help with your classroom we’ve put together a ton of helpful tips for setting up your classroom. Percussion Instruments
We enforce rhythm practice via clapping / stomping exercises very frequently, and these exercises can be greatly enhanced and made a lot more interesting for students if percussion instruments can be swapped out! There are a lot of affordable options on Amazon, and we added one to our Idea List, too!
Whiteboard & Markers
This is self-explanatory, yes? It's much easier to teach a young student about the basics of music when you have a big whiteboard and colorful markers to use. If you don't have these on hand, there are some great options on Amazon!
Stage Time Instruments
The Stage Time portion of each class (the last 10 minutes) is dedicated to the student seeing, touching, and sometimes playing the instrument they're learning about. If it's feasible for you to afford to purchase a child-size instrument for each level of the program, it really enriches the students' experience.
We've selected some options that we think are good quality and affordable - check them out on our Amazon Idea List here.
Bluetooth Speaker
There are a few opportunities to listen to music with your student while you complete some AAM activities. If you don't already have a bluetooth speaker, consider picking one up so you can play the music louder than what you might be able to do on a smart phone. There's a solid, affordable option on our Amazon Idea List here.
Music Theory Flashcards
You very well may have a copy of these already lying around, as music theory flashcards are a staple for a lot of music educators. Either way, they'll definitely come in handy as you walk your students through the AAM program. They're super cheap on amazon. Check it out here.
Writing Surface & Utensils
Depending on the type of classes you may already be teaching, you may not need to purchase anything in this regard. But if you don't have a surface to write on with your student (and something they can use to write and color with!), you'll want to get a few things. It probably comes as no surprise to you that we found some basic options and threw them on our Amazon Idea List!
